CITIES OF CORAL GABLES AND DORAL JOIN THE MIAMI-DADE TPO GOVERNING BOARD
On July 20, 2017 the Miami-Dade TPO Governing Board, on the recommendation by the TPO Executive Policy Committee, passed a resolution amending Rule 3 5H-102 of the Internal Rules of the TPO, pertaining to Governing Board composition. The modification utilizes population estimates prepared by the United States Bureau of Census to determine eligibility for Governing Board membership. Florida Statutes (FS) Section 339.175 and 339.176 dictate the composition of the Governing Board. Specifically, FS Section 339.176 mandates the Governing Board to include an additional voting member for each city with a population of 50,000 or more, as appointed by that city's governing body. By adopting these changes, the Cities of Coral Gables and Doral now have a seat on the Miami-Dade TPO Governing Board.
